Our containers are easy to use for all types of plants, indoors or out.
1) Fitting plants to pots: Each year we follow the large mass retailers and determine
which size plants and in
what brand pots they are going to offer customers. In general any potted plant should
easily drop, pot and all into a 1/2 size larger pot than the one it is in. For example,
if your plant is currently in a 6 1/2 inch plastic pot it should drop pot plant and all
easily into a 7 inch Standard Container. The pot size is often indicated on the bottom
of the plastic pot or just email us and we will gladly assist you. Use the following
guide to determine the right size container for your existing pot:

2) Other size considerations:
a) If you're not familiar with the various sized containers, we suggest you simply visit
any garden center, look on the bottom of the plastic containers where the size is usually
imprinted. While we use KOBA brand (listed as "Standard
Containers" on our website) containers, the sizes should
be similar. If you already have a KOBA brand container
you can purchase a cover for it.
b) If you currently have a plant in a container, simply look on the bottom to see what
size it is, and order a 1/2 inch larger size from us, your container will drop
perfectly into ours, guaranteed. IF unsure, simply give us the height of the container
your plant is in and the measurement from side to side across the top rim and bottom rim.
Our covers will only fit KOBA brand containers which are
manufactured with drainage holes.
c) Generally, plants should be replanted in a size no larger than 1/2 inch larger from the pot
they were inside. All 7 and 8 inch containers come free with either a 6 1/2 inch liner for the
7 inch pot, or a 7 1/2 inch liner pot for planting for the 8 inch outer pot.
d) 10" size considerations: If you prefer to go linerless, consider upgrading from the
"Standard Container" (KOBA brand) to our
True Planter" containers.
3) Other sizes: Larger containers are available in our True Planter line. Or, if
you prefer, we will also offer smaller containers upon request from our standard line
pictured above. Simply e mail us for more information.
4) Watering: In addition to creating these beautiful containers we have been in the greenhouse
business for years and can state that the number one reason plants are killed is due to
over-watering. Do not over-water your plants. Soil should be allowed to go slightly dry before
watering for almost all types of plants. Over-watering deprives the roots of much needed
oxygen.
5) Liners: As of January 1st, 2008 we started including a 2.7 mil thick
plastic bag insert
in the bottom of the outer container with our "Standard Containers". This creates a self watering style beautiful
container which eliminates the need for those ugly saucers, and, all water is retained
inside the bag and available for use by the plant to absorb.
a) Most sizes include a form-fitted liner, however, we have not found
a 9 1/2 inch pot container produced by any
manufacturer in the industry to fit our 10 inch container. We also do not have a form-fitted
liner for our 6 inch container. We now include a 2.7 mil thick
plastic bag to seal off
the drainage holes if you prefer with each. If wish to plant into it, simply add some stones
on top of the plastic liner or styrofoam to create a drainage layer then add soil and
finally your plants. Of course the 10 inch also makes great gift baskets.
b) When using our "Standard Container", to create a container not requiring a saucer,
seal off the drainage holes by simply
placing the plastic liner we've provided (or a pair of supermarket plastic bags) inside
the outer container so that a layer
of plastic forms on the inside. Then, simply insert the form-fitted liner (inside container), provided
with our 7" and 8" sizes, and you have created a
saucerless container. It's that simple!
6) True Planters: This is another line of containers we have developed which have built in saucers.
We cover the saucer and container as one unit with the theme of your choice. No plastic needs
to be inserted between the inner and outer container and no saucer is needed.
All our products are produced and stored in a smoke free environment.
